My most memorable holiday

The holiday is a special day that gives you a chance to meet or hang out with your close friends, have a great dinner with your lover, party with your colleagues or picnic with your family. For the girls, you can spend your holiday spilling the tea of someone (Hehe! I’m joking. Don’t mind me.). For somebody, it will be amazing more than this if they can go to visit somewhere else with their family on the holiday. In 2015 (8Jan, I guess), I went to visit the Angkor Wat, Siem Reap province, Kingdom of Cambodia. That year, I was just 14 years old and back in the day, it was an amazing moment.

Angkor Wat is a temple complex in Cambodia and the largest religious monument in the world by land area, with its site measuring 162.6 hectares (1.626 km2, 402 acres). It’s the most popular temple and is one of the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia. Everyone including foreigners always wants to visit it at least a time in their life but, you know, through my memory when my mom told me ‘Son, I’m planning to go to visit Angkor Wat.’, I felt normal. Yeah! Not surprised at all. I didn’t know why. Maybe I was just a boy (now I’m a man) who didn’t know that there were amazing things in this world. Though, It’s still the best moment until now, not only I can visit the ancient city, but it’s the first family trip that I have in my life either. I went to Siem Reap with my mom, my aunty, my twin brother and my sisters by bus. When we arrived, we rode an auto-rickshaw (three-wheel) to find a guest house to relax.

The morning came, we started to visit the ancient city. Oh my god! It was marvellous. I didn’t know how to explain my feelings when I saw Angkor Wat for the first time. I just ever saw it on TV and cover of the book, but when I saw it in reality through my eyes, it made me ask myself that: ‘Is this a part of the world?’ It’s impossible. The first thing I did is take photos. I am not a professional cameraman (I mean camera boy) so my mom needed to find a photographer to take some great pictures for us. Although, it’s a long time ago all every moment always stay with me through my memory and the photos that I have. By the way, we’re a poor family and I know my mom doesn’t have enough money for the trip. Thank you so much mom for sacrifice everything. I think I am one of the other poor children who got a chance to visit our world’s heritage. I hope one day I will be having a great family trip again to foreign countries.
